Female Fight Chatter April 4th – WBA female super lightweight titlist Ana Laura Esteche (11-4-3, 2 Kos) retained the world title after 10 rounds with Farida El Hadrati (9-0-1, 5 KOs) ended in a draw. Esteche, 25, lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina and El Hadrati, 34, lives in France. Esteche floored Hadrati in the third round but was deducted a point in the ninth round. One judge scored it 97-91 for Hadrati. The other two scored it exactly the same at 94-94. The title fight took place in France on Friday April 1. “La Monita” Esteche has fought two consecutive title defenses that ended in a draw.

In Monterrey, Mexico, Alondra Garcia (15-2-1) won by unanimous decision over Mayela Perez (11-21-4) after 10 rounds in a light flyweight contest on Friday. It was Garcia’s four consecutive win and Perez’s sixth consecutive loss. Garcia, 20, lives and trains in Guadalajara. Perez, 30, lives and trains in Saltillo, Mexico.

In Correze, France, Myriam Dellal (13-5-3) defeated Monica Gentili (4-6) by unanimous decision after eight rounds in their super lightweight contest on Saturday April 2. Dellal, 37, lives and trains in France. Gentili, 38, lives and trains in Lazio, Italy.

In Nord, France, Cindy Bonhiver (6-10) defeated Bojana Libiszewska (2-12) on points to win by unanimous decision on Saturday in a lightweight contest. Bonhiver, 32, snapped a two-fight losing streak. Libiszewska, 26, fights out of Dabrowa, Poland.

In Montceau-les-Mines, France, Fatima El Kabouss (2-1) defeated Magali Odde (0-1) after four rounds in a bantamweight clash. El Kabouss lives in France and has fought three times since February. Odde, 31, was making her pro debut and also lives in France.

In Tolyatti, Russia, Yulia Kutsenko (3-0-1) defeated Olga Zabavina (0-2) by technical knockout in the second round on Friday in a featherweight contest. Kutsenko, 26, lives and trains in Zhiguli, Russia. Zabavina, 29, lives in Murino, Russia.

In Mexico City, Mexico, Jacky Calvo (6-2) defeated Itzayana Cruz (2-3) by unanimous decision after four rounds in a flyweight contest on Saturday. It was Calvo’s sixth consecutive win. In another flyweight bout, Sonia Osorio (6-2) captured a unanimous decision win over Joselyn Reza (2-8) after four rounds.

Cindy Serrano (24-5-3) won a six round super featherweight contest over Renata Domsodi (13-9) by unanimous decision. Their fight took place on Wednesday March 30, at the BB King Blues Club and Grill in New York City.

 

Female Fight Chatter April 4th – Coming Up

Argentina’s female superstar Yesica Bopp (27-1) returns to the boxing ring after a two-year absence and faces fellow Argentine Vanesa Lorena Taborda (8-5-3) in a flyweight match set for eight rounds on Friday April 8. Bopp, 31, a former flyweight and light flyweight world champion has not fought since defeating Daniel Bermudez for the vacant WBO female flyweight world title in 2014. Taborda, recently had two riveting battles against Mexico’s Mariana Barbie Juarez and another against Jessica Chavez. It’s not an easy fight for Bopp after such a long layoff.

Tania Enriquez (7-0) faces Mary Gastelum (4-1-1) in a flyweight match set for six rounds on Friday April 8. Their fight takes place at Billar El Perro Salado in Tijuana, Mexico. Enriquez, 19, is the younger sister of former WBO flyweight titlist Kenia Enriquez. Both sisters live and train in Tijuana. Gastelum fights out of Los Mochis, Mexico. In another female bout Yanali Ayon (3-1) meets Karla Islas (1-3) in another flyweight bout set for four rounds. Both Ayon and Islas hail from Culiacan, Mexico.

Former female bantamweight world champion Susie Ramadan (23-2) meets Hongfah Tor Buamas (19-5) in a super bantamweight match set for eight rounds on Saturday April 9. Ramadan has not fought since losing the WBC bantamweight title to Yazmin Rivas on October 2014. She turns 37 on Sunday April 10. In another female bout, Shannon O’Connell (11-4-1) fights Anrey Onesongchaigym (8-3-1) for the vacant WBC Silver super bantamweight title. Both fights take place in Victoria, Australia.

Undefeated female lightweights meet when Rose Volante (6-0) meets Elaine Albuquerque (1-0) for the WIBA female lightweight title on Saturday April 9. The title match takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Volante, 27, is from Sao Paolo, Brazil. Albuquerque, 30, resides in Garanhus, Brazil.

Female mini-flyweight Joana Pastrana (3-0) faces Teodora Bacheva (4-3) in a six round bout on Saturday April 9, in Madrid, Spain. Pastrana, 25, lives and trains in Madrid, Spain. Bacheva, 24, lives and trains in Sofia, Bulgaria. On the same fight card, Cristina Gomez (0-1) fights Vanesa Caruso (0-2) in a female bantamweight match up. Former middleweight world champion Sergio Martinez is the promoter.

Alicia Napoleon (5-0) clashes with Latashia Burton (4-6) in a super welterweight set for six rounds on Saturday April 9, at the 5 Star Banquet Hall in New York City. Also, Natalie Gonzalez (1-0) tangles with debuting Rachel Sazoff in a four round flyweight bout.

Female welterweight Hasna Tukic (6-3) faces debuting Lara Mango in a bout set for six rounds on Sunday April 10. The match takes place in Bayern, Germany. Tukic, 20, is originally from Bosnia but now lives in Germany.

In Saitama, Japan, four female bouts take place on Sunday April 10 at the City Culture Hall. Mini-flyweights Chie Higano (4-4) and Aiko Yamagishi (4-3-1) tangle in a six round bout. Jun Yabuki (3-0) and Itose Ishii (2-1) meet in a four round flyweight contest. Two others are planned for the event by Nitto Promotions.
