Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada was signed to a promotional contract by Golden Boy Promotions it was announced today on Tattoo and the Crew radio show.
“It’s a long term contract,” said Robert Diaz, the matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions.
Estrada (11-0, 2 Kos) lives in East L.A. and has been fighting professionally since May 2011 after a lengthy amateur boxing career. Now 25, the petite speedy boxer-puncher last fought at the StubHub Center this past September against Mexican veteran Anahi Torres.
Estrada breezed past Torres with ease in front of an impressed crowd.
The signing of Estrada by Golden Boy Promotions now brings their roster of female fighters to three. Earlier this year they signed middleweight Maricela Cornejo and flyweight Marlen Esparza. An eventual showdown with Esparza is a strong possibility.
“Down the road that can be a big fight,” said Diaz.
With Golden Boy Promotions now building up their female fight roster it’s easy to envision more televised bouts on major cards as well as minor shows.
“I want to thank all the people who have supported me all these years and who have bought tickets,” said Estrada who signed the contract with her father Joe Estrada and trainer Dean Campos present.
Estrada has been boxing since she was eight years old and said she has put 18 years of her life into the sport.
“I don’t want any regrets,” she said about staying in boxing.
