Today ticket offices flipped the switch for the Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron mega fight headed for Dublin, Ireland on May 20 at 3Arena.

Taylor and Cameron will not be alone.

Several key matchups accompany the super lightweight world championship including current WBA super welterweight titlist Terri Harper meeting former undisputed welterweight champ Cecilia Braekhus. Also, Australia’s Cherneka Johnson defends the IBF super bantamweight title against Britain’s Elie Scotney.

Each contest has no clear victor.

All on the Matchroom Boxing card will be streamed on DAZN.

For various reasons Taylor has not been able to perform in her native country. But circumstances changed and the former 2012 London Olympics gold medalist and undisputed lightweight champion now eagerly anticipates fighting in front of Irish fans.

Originally, Taylor was set to face Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano in a rematch, but a late injury to the seven-division world titlist forced a postponement. The boxing world was crushed for a moment and staggering backward hearing the unfortunate news. Their first clash a year ago changed the women’s boxing landscape forever.

Taylor personally invited Cameron to meet in the prize ring and quickly a match was made. It should be interesting. Both faced each other numerous times in the amateur boxing scene. Now they finally face each other as pros with both undisputed and Taylor looking to snatch away the crown from Cameron.

In the super welterweight contest, Harper jumped up from lightweight to super welterweight and looks healthy and stronger than ever. Instead of 130 pounds the 154 pound-limit suits her perfectly, at least visually.

Harper’s win against Hannah Rankin was proof that the extra weight was necessary in continuing the sport. The Yorkshire fighter kept her speed and power and was able to out-fight the champion and win on points.

Norway’s Braekhus is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to fight for the super welterweight title. The “First Lady” had trouble fighting America’s Jessica McCaskill and maybe European style of fighting is a better fit. We shall see, She looked sluggish at first in her last fight but within a few rounds was sharp as ever.

It’s an intriguing match.

Of course there is always Claressa Shields lurking in the background who claims making the drop back down to 154 is attainable. The winner gets Shields?

The third marquee match pits England’s Scotney looking to topple super bantamweight champ “Sugar Neekz” Johnson. It won’t be easy. The Aussie has a lot of that “down under” verve that her country is famous for producing in the prize ring. They come to fight and won’t give up. She showed tremendous will after suffering a monstrous gash on her forehead.

Lou DiBella, her promoter, said that visible determination was the reason he signed her.

Scotney was an amateur protégé and at times looks like a world beater. And other times looks confused especially fighting inside. But London-based Scotney has all of the tools to advance to world championship status.

Czarina McCoy

Las Vegas resident Czarina McCoy (11-1, 3 Kos) signed a managerial contract with Split-T Management including Brian Cohen it was announced on Tuesday.

McCoy has performed at super flyweight to super lightweight with all of her contests taking place in Mexico. It’s a tactic used by many outstanding amateur prospects including Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia early in their careers. She was guided by her father.

“My dad wanted me to work independently at first,” said McCoy, 22. “We felt at this time it is the right time to work with Brian (Cohen) as I know he can help me get to the next level.”
